I found both the 1% & 2% bha's (and both liquid solution and lotion formula) extremely harsh for my face. This stuff wreaked total havoc on my skin as well as my kids face (I unfortunately had them try it for their acne at the same time I tried it). It took us 6-9 months for our skin to recover.
Funny how people who give facials need a license to simply touch our face, but anyone can create chemical products that we put on our face. Kinda scary when you think about it.
