Stone Phillips' television news experience includes anchoring "Dateline NBC" and serving as a correspondent on the ABC show "20/20." Before joining "Dateline NBC" in 1992, Phillips had worked as a correspondent on "20/20" since 1986. The same year he joined "20/20," he also served as a substitute host on "Good Morning America" and as sports anchor on ABC's "World News Sunday."

I don't know of any parents out there who named their son Stone. But the Phillips did and they conceived who would later become one of the best news people on NBC with Dateline. He was getting too tabloidish the last couple of years, but he's softened that a whole lot. But Stone is a catchy name and that's what makes him stand out of that show.
