Since 1900, the US foreign policy has been about one thing: ensuring that everyone gets along so that business can be conducted prosperously and peacefully. Free and capitalist nations are not a threat to their neighbor, no matter what delusional socialists say. Americans are a very peace-loving people as a whole. A peace platform is always a wining issue in elections (particularly since 1900) - and I believe that a peace platform was the winner in '04. Pulling out of Iraq would not ensure peace in the long term; but a viable, moderate, secure, and wealthy Iraq in the heart of the Middle East could possibly ensure peace in the region.
