The Washington Wizards have undergone five name changes since their birth as the Chicago Packers in 1961. The Chicago Packers became the Chicago Zephyrs, which became the Baltimore Bullets, then the Capitol Bullets, followed by the Washington Bullets, until finally becoming the Washington Wizards in 1997. The franchise's only NBA championship came in 1978 when Wes Unseld and Elvin Hayes led the Bullets to victory over the Seattle SuperSonics. The Wizards play their home games at the MCI Center in Washington, DC.
