Birth control methods usually refer to techniques to prevent pregnancy. Abortion is not a prevention method, but its inclusion on the list underscores the wisdom of considering prevention over a path that has physical and psychological consequences. No sane person seriously thinks abortion is a more desirable technique than using contraception. Unfortunately, all of these better options are eliminated after people fail to recognize prevention's value. Some parents are against letting teenagers be educated about contraception. But if this prevents both abortions and other unwanted pregnancies, then I prefer education over saying too little.
