As idiotic as this item is, someone needs to set the record straight. By an enormous margin, the men and women currently serving in the military (and most veterans) are extremely supportive of President Bush, and morale is very high, in direct contrast with their lukewarm support (for 8 years) of former President Clinton, whom they tended not to trust. He actually was quoted as saying he loathed the military as a young man, a statement he never retracted or disavowed, even as President. Are there a few soldiers who vote for democrats? Sure. Do some pick up the idiotic talking points of the anti-war agenda unique to the liberal mindset? Sure. A few. Military personnel overwhelmingly believe in the cause of replacing a murderous despot with a democracy in Iraq, and in Afghanistan, they are dedicated to the success of that democracy also. You can't know unless you know several soldiers from different areas of the country. The American and European press boycott that side of the story. The only positive stories of the US Military you can find anywhere are about relief efforts related to the tsunami in the Indian Ocean. They are not ill-equipped, they do not lack proper training. They are an enormously successful fighting force. Hate Bush all you want but there is no reason to disparage the brave men and women who are risking their lives while you sit at your keyboard and spew things that are not true.
