In the final film in the trilogy to date, the dead have pretty much taken over the world. Civilization has fallen apart. Only a handful of humans remain alive in baracaded facilities. In Day of the Dead, we have two groups of humans living together. The scientists and the military guys. The scientists insist on trying to find a cure for the dead. After all, they can't kill every single one of the dead. The military guys just want to shoot up as many as possible and try to get away. It's a destructive movie where the main theme seems to be the incapability for man to work with one another. The military guys start shooting up the scientists, who try their best to get away. Along the line, everything falls apart and the dead brake in. At this point in the trilogy, viewers now know what to expect when and where, drawing from the movie a little. Still, Day of the Dead was a great installment in the trilogy, although most agree the weakest of the three films.
