With all due respect to the two Big Reds, Man O' War and Secretariat, Big Cy is the greatest horse of all time. It is so hard to compare horses from different times. But consider these facts. He ran against and beat older horse right after he turned three! That is unheard of! Man O' War or Secretariat did not do that. Cy ran a week before the Derby in the Derby Trial and won. He is still the only horse to have done that. He ran in a stakes a race between his Preakness and his Belmont and won... Sure he never shattered records, he never won by huge margins... all he did was win at all lengths and in all conditions. He gave you just what was needed in a business like manner. The horse had speed and incredible stamina. His record gets tarnished because Mr. Wright pushed way to hard for him to run in races at the end of his three year old campaign on that crappy track at Tanforan which injured him. The he pushed too hard for him to come back, because of greed to to make Big Cy the first Millionare winning horse. Big Cy was and is the greatest horse ever. Like Mr. Jones said there is no horse Citation can't pass that he sees, and there is nothing worng with his eyesight...
