Love is the greatest emotion because it not only the sweetest emotion, it also has amazing effects. It can heal a person, even physically prolonging their life. Infact, love is the greatest gift you can recieve. The nature of love is, it keeps no records of something wrong, it believes the best about a person, it is quick to listen and forgive yet slow to judge, it is selfless, it is kind, patient, peace loving, it is not arrogent, slow to anger and has been the power source for the most heroric acts. Eg Jesus getting Himself killed so that if we simply believe in Him, we will enter His Kingdom, or a parent running into a burning house to save their children. Love is the making of a hero. Other emotions like compassion, mercy, forgiveness are branches of love. Without love, if there was a world disaster, no one would give a dam. Without love, we would also eliminate compassion, grace, hatred for evilness and wrongs in our society, marriage. We were created to be love and to be loved. I also believe that love has been mistaken for lust. It is not love that hurts, it is the feeling of rejection or not getting what you want. I say this because so often, people say that love hurts. I also believe that love can turn to jealousey. That is why people would murder their loved ones if they did something horrible to them. Jealousey is not just being angry at someone for having something that you don't have, it is also defined as a fear and resentment of loosing one's affection. If there was true love in the first place, that type of jealousey wouldn't exist. Don't mistake love for one's selfish desire to control. Sometimes the reason why husbands may sometimes beat their wives or murder, it is not always out of love, but out of a strong desire to control and posess someone, which it's root source is insecurity. The most important thing about love is it is unconditional. If some people claim that love comes at a cost, it is because of the people they were loving were not only selfish and wern't willing to give them a try, but their love is based on looks or your material posessions which is not love at all, but the love of lust. I know, because I sometimes feel like that - Love comes at a cost. It does with humans who are unwilling to obey God, and will be punished, but it doesn't with God. All as you have to do is accept His love. Just as humans have defamed love, they have also defamed God.
