...and by the way: he was so near to win on clay: he wasnt able to realise 3 matchpoints in a row - by own service in the final of hamburg against thomas muster. he also was once in the paris semi-finals, where he lost to edberg.
his waekness on clay seemed to be a bit psychologically cause this was the last goal he had.
in general a real giftet player, tramendous will-power, unbelievable touch besides his bum-bum-service. one if these players that won the most 5 set matches and also in winning after being 2 sets behind. but also - like all genius-players perhaps - a bit slovenly with his talents. i m sure he could have won so much more. but this was part of his personality. so for me a great player, but not under the greatest of all time.
