Well,it definately felt Mexican to me-and I think it's a great part of downtown LA.Sometimes areas like this get criticized for being well,touristy, and not the real deal.But,I think, the bottom line is that streets like this-hopefully it'll stay Mexican-are a positive statement for the hard work and dedication it takes to establish a good thing. I have seen the alternative-Greektown,in Detroit,which was once Greek, really isn't anymore since one of the local gambling casinos moved in, and a proposed 'Africatown'-in a majority black city- which would be government-funded (debated on Larry Elder's TV show),which I think compromises the greatness that various ethnic groups have enriched America.
