Purina 5

*Note: I have no connection to Purina in any way* My Pugs have been fed Purina O.N.E. since they've been on solid food. Starting with the puppy formula. They've always been healthy, but they've also always had an open dish menu. When they eventually Pugged-up we switched to the healthy weight management formula and after 8 months the vet says they are both within 2 pounds of ideal weight, even though the open bowl policy is still in effect. Maybe O.N.E. is vastly different from other Purina formulas, but it almost sounds like P.E.T.A. is trying to slam Purina for some reason. Canines are carnivores by nature, and denying them flesh is just wrong. Forcing your dog to eat a vegetable-based diet is cruel. *end political rant* ;)

You say that dogs are carnivors by nature, then why are you feeding them Purina? By-products are not good sources of protien (they are the heads, beaks, and feet of the chicken) and corn is definitely a plant. Read the ingredients of your bag before you start saying how great purina is. Especially since you believe that dogs should be eating meat. There is very little to no meat in purina.

I agree with what you say PETA and how every other idiot on here thinks high premium dog food is a must and will prolong life and all that crap. Just One correction...dogs are omnivores not true carnivores so they can include grains and veggies in there diet. otherwise great post. and for the Jerk puppyloverkb who commented on your post couldn't be more wrong corn is in all prescription dog foods for dogs with gastrointestinal problems and is very digestible. And dogs been eating by products in the wild for thousands of years.
