Van Gogh pretty much is tops for me. i've never read about a person more dedicated to the fuction of their art than this man. he spent more on paint supplies than he did food! not only that but Van Gogh was a trailblazer, a color-fanatic, who was surrounded by French Impressionism at the time but still forged his own fruitless path. I understand the whole life on anonimity but from everything i've read about Van Gogh recognition seemed secondary to the art.
