The Sacramento Kings got their start in the National Basketball League (NBL) in 1945 as the Rochester Royals. After a brief stint in the Basketball Association of America (BAA), the Kings joined the NBA in 1949. After stints in Cincinatti and Kansas City, the Kings finally relocated to Sacramento prior to the 1985 season. The franchise won its only NBA title in 1951. The Kings play their home games at the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, CA.
