What many leaders fail to understand time and time again is that war symbolizes the ultimate political failure. It isn't something that should be taken as a point of honor, but rather a point of necessity. But the reality is that leaders have to ultimately build up the righteousness of their own cause to give the people the fighting spirit necessary to defeat an enemy. That does not change the fact that to enter a war many times represents a profound failure on the part of any given nations political leadership to manage its foreign or even internal affairs, definitely not something to be proud of.
