The Braves franchise has roots that date back to 1876 when they were located in Boston and known as the Boston Red Caps. In their 77 years in Boston, they had six name changes before permanently settling on the Braves in 1941. The team moved to Milwaukee in 1953 and then to Atlanta in 1966. The franchise has won three World Series championships, most recently in 1995. An NL East team, the Braves play their home games at Turner Field in Atlanta, GA. Braves in the National Baseball Hall of Fame include Eddie Matthews, Hank Aaron, and Phil Niekro.
