Born in 1972, Shaquille O'Neal was selected out of Louisiana State University by the Orlando Magic as the top pick in the 1992 NBA Draft. In 1996, the 7-1 center signed on with the Los Angeles Lakers as a free agent. In the 1999-00 season, O'Neal enjoyed his most dominant year as a professional, leading the league in scoring and field goal percentage, earning MVP honors, and leading the Lakers to the NBA title. Shaq was the youngest player named one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history.
