I am not a Catholic but i respected John Paul II. He was one of the world leaders of his time (Regan, Thatcher, etc) to stand up to Communism and end the Cold War. He did many good things for the world. I didn't agree with him about his decision no to support the War in Iraq. However his was the only dissenting opinion I respected. Pope John Paul II was honest and stood up for what he beleived in. All other world leaders had their hands stuck in the cookie jar trying to keep it from being blown up.
