Many people here in the US are just ignorant about this sport. Though it is accuracy being stressed here, you are sweeping and that takes energy and some training. Scores are accounted for and it's a phenom in Canada and all other countries. Defintely a sport. If you are interested in this, the 2006 Men's World Championships (Olympic Qualifying) will be held in Amherst, MA. It's easy to understand, you will catch on.
