I studied piano for about fourteen years and have regrettably had to quit playing. I just dont have the time for it any more and it saddens me often. However, I still take the time to listen to some piano music occasionally. Of the many composers out there I would almost have to say Chopin is my favorite (for piano). I suggest any of the preludes for the novice listener (or moderately advanced player).
