John MacArthur claims to be a grace alone teacher, but in fact he is really not. He teaches a false doctrine called Lordship Salvation. Lordship salvation says that you are not simply saved by trusting in Christ for salvation. Lordship salvation proponents say that you are actually saved by making Christ Lord of your life and following through in this commitment to this in your life. This might sound good and just what the church needs, but let me assure you that it is totally unbiblical. Committing ourselves to the firstness and Lordship of Christ should be the goal of all Christians, but is in reality something we are adding of ourselves and therefore is adding our efforts and works to be saved. There is NOTHING we can do or commit ourselves to doing that will save us. Jesus Christ alone has done it all and there is nothing we can do but believe and be saved. (Rom 4:1-4-5, Eph 2:8-10,
