I too, like the crispness of iceberg lettuce for garnishing Mexican foods, as well as putting it on several of my sandwiches. I prefer Romaine when making a Caesar salad, the green leafs I use in most of my salads and for warm bacon dressing I use fresh spinach with a few sauteed portabellos on top. No one, however, can convince me that the mix of baby greens, also referred to as mesculin greens, is tasty. They remind me of a handful of weeds picked from a cow field, the frisee is akin to getting hair in my mouth, too bitter for my taste.
