Abraham Lincoln (1861-1865) 4

UPDATE:  The historians are really doing a number on him, and I have to admit making some points that I had not considered before.  I am considering reducing from 4 to a 3.

ORIGINAL COMMENT:  He had to react. I would hope that his gross violations of the Constitution would have been remedied in his second term. The revisionists are starting to take the hide off him.

Um - revisionism would be to re-write what actually happened, not reveal the truth that had been overlooked or obscured.

A gross violation of the Constitution is a gross violation of the oath of office that he took. Even if he'd remedied them in his second term, he'd committed the crime and breach of trust in his first term.
