Alfred Hitchcock 5

He was peerless in his area. The many copycats show his power and talent.  At least thirty people rated him a "1."  I would love to analyze their psychic problems, but then Lawrence would ban me from the site!

The people who rated Hitchcock a one probably think scary movies are the sole property of movies Like Halloween, Friday the 13th and other slash and thrash movies. Hitchcock learned through trial and error the proper use of the camera as well as the story line to convey suspense rather than fear the teen aged baby sitter is going to get knifed to death. Hitchcock once said when he was a boy in school he had done something wrong and was going to be sent to the principal's office at the end of the day. That entire day was torment for him but when it came time to report to the principle, the teacher excused him. He never forgot the lesson of the fear which was in his mind that day and he learned how to tranform that fear onto suspense and then put that suspense on film. As long as there are people who can't see the brilliance of films such as North by Northwest (the man in the field being chansed by a plane scene was later replayed almost identically in From Russia With Love) we will have folks who will rate Hitchcock a one.
