Christian--What qualifies a person to be a Christian? 5

Nothing! Salvation is not based on our merits or our good works. Salvation is a free gift from God. All as we have to do is knock, ask, seek. Knock - Start praying in faith to Jesus. Admit that you are a sinner and in need of salvation and tell Him the fact that you believe and acknowledge what Jesus did for you on the cross. Ask - For forgiveness of all your sins and that you repent, and ask for Jesus to come into your life and be the Lord and saviour of your life, and to direct you into the will of the Father. Seek - After that, you have been saved. All as you have to do now is to seek an intimate relationship with God and get to know Jesus intimately and talk to Him on a daily basis.

It's almost funny to read all these notes. Did you know that there is only 1/10 of 1% of the Bible that explains how to be saved, and virtually the rest is to build upon your sanctification. Once saved you are as justified as you will ever get. Justified: "just as if I'd" never sinned. Sanctified: the growing of your relationship with Christ your redeemer. Christianity isn't at all about religion. It's a relationship with Christ our redeemer. Why just a small part of the Bible to explain HOW to be saved? Because it's so easy, even a child can do it. Not by works lest any man could boast. Mankind is always trying to second guess everything. We want to make things harder than they really are. Look at the thief on the cross. He basically told the other to shut up. "We deserve what we are getting, but he (Christ) did no wrong". With that statement, he admitted wrong. When he said to Christ, "Remember me when you come into your kingdom". Christ said, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise". It was that statement from that thief that saved him. He never did come down and do any "WORKS" for salvation. It is by YOUR faith, and HIS grace alone. Head knowledge of Christ won't save you. Satan knows more about Him than you do. It must go to the heart. Like a chair, you look at it and by faith you know it will hold your weight. So you sit in it. His LOVE is sufficient enough to save you. So sit in His love. You look at a piece of pie. Mmmm. Looks good. But you will never know until you try it. From your heart, say "Jesus save me". And by faith step into His open arms. It's that simple. The Holy Spirit will do the rest. Don't forget: Just like a real baby, milk is about all you can handle. As your spiritual body grows, so will your spiritual appetite. Try it. What do you have to loose. What you'll gain is life, and life more abundantly.
