A rare combination, a great politician, but an even better person. I believe if he wins the Republican nomination, he would become the 44th president of the United States. I had the honor to shake his hand back at a 2000 presidental rally, and that was one of the biggest thrills of my life. That said, there are negatives to his nomination, he has alienated the conservative base, and more importantly he would be 72 in 2008. He would be the oldest person elected President, and this would raise questions if he would run for reelection. Would he only be a one-term president? These are questions that will be asked during the election.
