Black Panther salute in Mexico City (1968)

At the medal ceremony for the 200m sprint, American athletes Tommie Smith and John Carlos (first and third place) raised their fists in a “Black Panther” salute in protest to racism in America.

Defend their right to freedom of speech and political expression, but it's pretty damn hypocritical of them to accept medals or even participate in the Olympics, as they were essentially representing a country that they viewed as repressive of their race...
