Big and brawny, I've always referred to these monsters as refined musclecars. Built with nice interiors (especially the dash layout), they were solid enough to take out cruising, and plenty wicked enough to uncork at the track. 1972 was the last good year for them (essentially a trim option from '73 on). VERY dependable engine, with useful torque in every gear. Couldn't get away with the sleeper image Buicks of those years enjoyed (the hood was just too aggressive), but a great hauler that's missed by many a car fan.
