I share earthbound's cautionary tone. We're not close to accomplishing this, particularly in such polarized times as these. The Founding Fathers designed a fine system here, one that moves forward based on (hopefully) thoughtful compromise. All voices need to be heard in a discussion like this. For the democrats to articulate their side of this revision to such a fundamental cog in the big wheel, they need to have a few ideas, instead of just opposing anything the other side proposes. They don't look ready to me. Not that the republicans have done a great job either, but at least they are proposing reforms.
