The Iraqi government seems to be lacking in stability. The problem seems to be that there is no strong leader that has credibility throughout the country. Outside of some Shi'ite clerics and Kurdish leaders, there is no one with a wide appeal. Hence, this makes establishing a stable government all the more difficult, being that there is no central source of leadership. The reason why the insurgency rages on is because of a lack of political authority. Without strong leadership, different factions with no overwhelming support are turning to arms to gain power. The Iraqi's have the ball here, they have to establish a stable government before they can ask us to leave. Otherwise, we might end up showing ourselves to the door, a bad choice for both us and the Iraqis.
