First, let me say that I don't belong to any denomination and I don't believe in them either. Denominations, whether Baptist, Methodist, Catholic, or whatever, are simply human inventions. In the eyes of God, you have either believed in Christ for your salvation or you have not. If you have believed Christ then you are a member of the only Church that God recognizes: the Body of Christ.
As for baptists; there is such a wide diversity of them and their beliefs that it would not be fair to make a single opinion of them.
I do agree with most baptists--that the believer is eternally secure; once he is saved, he will always be saved.
I disagree with this myth that most baptists seem to buy into; that is that they believe that their church had its beginnings with John the Baptist.
