A potential darkhorse candidate. Warner certainly has some of the credentials needed to win a race for the Democrats. He's a moderate, fiscal conservative with some liberal social views, but not too liberal. The Republicans might tag him as a tax hiker, but the economy has been stedily growing in his state during his tenure. He's generally regarded as fiscally responsible, cutting back spending in his state and streamlining operations. Generally, Warner is fairly effective governor whose Southern roots might be helpful to Dems. However, he's sort of an unknown quantity outside of Virginia and his views on foreign policy are a question mark. His business-like traits will be the most helpful to him in a primary.
