Besides his strong, echoing voice and virtuosity on drums, Phil Collins excels as a songwriter and adds to the mix his showmanship, social awareness (Another Day in Paradise) and sense of humor. I can't think of a more versatile performer. Although he deserves to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he already has something that is cherished far more: an Oscar. So, Hall of Fame electors, if you ever get around to giving Phil his due, please recognize that you're not at the top of the list.
