I suspect that most liberals, particularly young liberals, find a guy or woman with whom they identify and evolve from there. As a young man, I idolized John Kennedy because his youth and vigor was apparent. Funny that I did not identify with Johnson, try as I might to like him. JFK seemed more than smart and tough, I saw him as enormously patriotic.
