So boring on my morning commute that I turn on NPR. No passion, no controversy, just dry monotone. Can't we have Jim Rome---now there's some pizzazz! Coaches are lively too and talk on the radio like they do in the locker room: even if it's good ol' boy talk, it's from the heart, it's real life, and the words come with a coach slap on the back, a coach kick in the butt, or coach fist grabbing your face mask. Here in Central Florida we have Coach Bowden (Bobby's son)on afternoon ESPN radio. He is not a rocket scientist, doesn't have a lot of dopey baseball stats, but he makes you feel like your standing on the sidelines with him and he's saying, Son, here's what I want you to do. That Mike and Mike stuff is dry, trite, and lifeless. Maybe if they were talking about opera....
