IJR and I have, at least seemingly, some diametrically opposed views and feelings on political and social issues. But, I have to say, he's more than sensible in the few personal notes we've exchanged, and having a meal with him probably would prove to be a venue where we migh both see things just a bit differently. I'd insist on both of drinking a lot of wine, though - it's an amazing way to make people become agreeable (usually - sometimes they just get cranky and antagaonistic, but it's a chance I'd take).
