Born in 1937, Jack Nicholson has assumed a wide range of characters, from the comedic to the profoundly disturbed. His role as a mental patient in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" won him an Oscar for Best Actor. Next came "The Shining," a horror movie, and then the drama "Terms of Endearment," for which Nicholson earned another Oscar, this time for Best Supporting Actor. He won the Best Actor Oscar again for his role as an obsessive-compulsive novelist in the award-winning "As Good As It Gets."
