Orion, the Hunter is most visible during the winter in the southern sky. It is easier to find by locating Orions Belt with the bright star Betelgeuse on Orions left shoulder. In Arabic the word Betelgeuse is translated as the armpit of the central one. At the feet of Orion are said to be his two faithful hunting dogs, Canis Major and Canis Minor. According to myth Orion died from the bite of a scorpion that is why as the story goes that Scorpius was placed on the opposite side of the sky.
