He has reached ultimate success in his profession, but I would agree that it has little, if anything, to do with intelligence or education. Outside of cycling, I am not aware of any business ventures or success that he has had. This still doesn't take away from his success. He is to cycling what Wayne Gretsky is to hockey or Michael Jordan is to basketball.
