I bought a Remington 700 Sendero, 300 Ultra Mag, stainless fluted barrel a few years ago and never got the chance to go out and shoot it until this last summer (I was active duty military and just never had the time). Well, I am incredibly DISAPPOINTED in the performance of this rifle. I started out with factory ammunition, then reloaded my own ammunition, I played with seating depths, different bullets, different powders, crimp and no crimp, full length resize and neck size only, etc., and I even changed scopes. And yes I checked all the screws and bolts to make sure everything was snug and tight. The best group this firearm ever shot was a 4 inch group at 100 yards!! In my opinion this thing is nothing more than an expensive fence post! I hope someone from Remington sees this becasue now I am taking this thing to a gunsmith today and probably will have to spend several hundred dollars to get the thing to shoot right. Something I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DO considering the cost of this firearm!! If this is the kind of quality one can expect from Remington I will probably not be looking at buying a Remington again and will tell friends and family to follow my lead.

To whom it may concern, I am a U.S. Marine and I own a Remington 700 VSF 308. The accuracy for this rifle is incredible. I'm getting a 5 shot group totaling 1.5 inch groups at 500 yards. So if you Haters out there don't like your rifles accuracy You need to go back out to the rifle range and try again.

Please reconsider your stand on Remington firearms. I have owned and used many Remington 700's through the years. I even was issued one during active duty as a USMC sniper. I would not recomend The Sendero personally but try the 700 CDL it comes bedded and floated from the factory and mine in .270 shoot 1/4" groups at 200yd. with Leupold 3-9 40mm VX1 scope. the trigger pull should be adjusted right away at factory 7 lbs. it is excessive. It cost me $15.00 to bring it down to 3 lbs. at my local gunsmith. also what type of factory ammo are you using? I would recommend Hornady Or Federal Depending on the caliber you chose.
