Dr. D. James Kennedy 1

I can't speak for all of D. James Kennedy's beliefs, but I can comment on one of his beliefs: he was absolutely wrong in his views on the Separation of Church and State. Instead of seeking to understand Separation and what it was truly about, Kennedy chose instead to promote misrepresentations and outright falsehoods. It's quite sad, in my mind, that Kennedy was seemingly too beholden to a certain Christian "dominionist" agenda to see that Separation is a benefit to Christians and religious freedom - not a detriment.

It depends on how one defines "Separation of Church and State." Dr. Kennedy showed the errors of the liberal definition.

I don't see how the so-called "liberal definition" of Separation is any different from the historical definition. Madison's first draft of the First Amendment used the following wording:

"The civil rights of none shall be abridged on account of religious belief or worship, nor shall any national religion be established, nor shall the full and equal rights of conscience be in any manner, or on any pretence, infringed.''

How is that different from today's interpretation?

Liberals have changed the meaning. They think that Separation of Church and State means to keep anything that refers to God (and especially Christianity) out of government.

How many liberals have you met personally?
