Billy Donovan was hired as Head Coach of the Florida Gators on March 27, 1996. Prior to his Florida position, Billy Donovan rebuilt a struggling Marshall program, and had served as an assistant coach at the University of Kentucky for five years. University of Florida basketball has thrived under Billy Donovan, and have become a perennial Final Four contender.
