Prescribed to me for chronic headaches due to a skull fracture. Although nothing truly relieves the pain (it is INTENSE), Vicodin brought my pain from around an 8 down to a 3, which is pretty remarkable. Percocet is better, way better, but Vicodin doesn't have the same amount or severity of side-effects. It's different for everyone, but I have a very high tolerance for narcotics and Vicodin still made me very talkative and energetic before I'd crash and feel sleepy.
