Probably not. People are too damn stubborn, and they need to feel "special". Some people just need that sense of "superiority", even if it's all in their minds.
I've finally come to accept that some people are going to see me as an Asian person first (even if I know just about as much about Chinese culture as anyone else in America). They're going to ask questions, mostly not out of ignorance, but out of curiousity. I can deal with that. All I'm asking is just don't be an ass about it, that's all.
