Former NBA star for Philadelphia and Phoenix. Was courted to run for governor by Alabama Republican Party. One of the first black celebrities in recent years to admit that he was not a Democrat, and often leaned Republican on issues. He did however, endorse John Edwards in the '04 primary and voted for John Kerry in the general election.
