I am really wondering what everyone is smoking because saying that tiger doesn't have to competition that Jack did is pure ignorance. People are confused because they see that Jack had all of the other great golfers like Player, Palmer, Trevino, and Watson and assume that since there aren't a bunch of golfers with a ton of majors next to tiger that that somehow implies that there is a lack of competition. In reality this says the complete opposite since their was less competition it probably meant that one of those four golfers were gonna win each tournament since they were playing at a different level then the rest of the field. Nowadays there are so many players playing at an extremely high level of golf that it is extremely hard to win a tournament. Tiger Woods is just a freak of nature and he is simply just that much better then anyone who has ever played the game Vijay, Els, Mickelson, Goosen, all of these names are as good as Jacks competition and in all honesty probably better. With the more people playing golf then ever before its pretty much a no brainer that the game is improving from generation to generation. But regardless of what is said on this site history will remember Tiger as the greatest to ever play the game until another dominate presence comes along in the future.
