Abraham Lincoln

(1809-1865) 16th President of the United States. Lincoln led the nation through the Civil War, which was caused in part by tensions over slavery. Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation which freed slaves only in the Confederate states.

 


Drummond

His interest was in preserving the Union. Everything else was secondary. Thus, he was in the right place at the right time. But at least he did it.
