She stayed with him for political reasons. She would have left him otherwise, and she would have been justified. Don't know how many feminists actually burned their bras, and personally, I think anti-feminist women insult men much more often than feminist women. But that's just my experience.
Roosevelt was a dedicated woman and did a lot of good from her position. She would be considered too active by today's standards of "first ladies."
