While Dean Martin was arguably a better singer and the legions of modern day imitators are keeping the flame, Frank invented the art of putting himself into a song. When he sang a song, he put his stamp on it, and if the song didn't fit his voice, then the song was bent to work for him, not the other way around. It didn't hurt that he had at his disposal the greatest arrangers of the day in Nelson Riddle, Billie May and later Neal Hefti. In his later years, Bill Miller his long time acompanist was able to make Frank's fading voice feel like a well worn, but well made suit.
