A good state- but taxes are not as low as the previous poster said. Sure there is no state income tax or sales tax- but real estate taxes are astronomical. The state is pleasant nonetheless, with nice summers and rather harsh winters in the up country.

you said it well! I was raised in NE and now live in SC. I am looking for property in NH but the the taxes are just as you said, "astronomical!" Its a shame that even if you can find your dream home that you can afford, you won't be able to afford the taxes especially knowing that they only go up every year! I may have to look in a bordering state where the land taxes are not so high.
